Aviation Technicians visit Tahoma

Delta Airlines Techs

On Wednesday, three Delta Airlines Aircraft Technicians visited and spoke to the Tahoma High School Automotive classes about technician careers in the Aviation Industry. Like all skilled trades, the aviation industry is facing a skilled labor shortage. Students learned the basics of jet engine operation, how aircraft brakes are similar and different from automotive brakes, and the purpose of using safety wire on bolts. Students also learned about the training path to a career in this industry, as well as the pay and benefits earned by aircraft technicians. The aircraft maintenance industry is a high-tech, in-demand career that provides a living wage and exceptional benefits.
