Tahoma sends Vocal Solo/Ensemble singers to State

On March 18th, Tahoma students competed at the Vocal Solo & Ensemble Contest for the Green River Music Region (consisting of the Kent, Auburn, Enumclaw, Tahoma, and White River school districts).  Each voice category has a winner, 1st alternate, and 2nd alternate except for Soprano.  There are so many sopranos that enter the contest across the state, that this is a double category with two winners, two 1st alternate, and two 2nd alternates.  Our students performed very well!  Here are the results:

Tahoma took the top 3 spots in the Soprano category:
Allie Orozco – winner
Sophia Heinz – winner
Morgan Roberts – 1st alternate

Austin Freeman is 1st alternate for the Bass category.

Allie Orozco & Sophia Henz also won the small ensemble category with their duet.

The winners move on to the state contest at the end of April.  Alternates will be used to fill spots from regions without winners.

The following THS students received Superior ratings:  Morgan Roberts, Justin Freeman, Allie & Sophie (duet), Austin Freeman, Lindsay Harmon, Allie Orozco, Amelia Davis, Sadie Christensen, Sophia Heinz

Congratulations to all of the Tahoma singers for their outstanding performances today!
