Tahoma Speech & Debate qualifies 3 to Nationals

This weekend the Tahoma Speech & Debate team competed at the National Qualifying Tournament for the Western Washington district at Federal Way High School. This single tournament determines which teams in this region will qualify to compete at the National Tournament in Birmingham, AL this June. It was a very tough competition with a lot of amazing competitors. The Tahoma team qualified in three separate events!

This year three Tahoma students will be competing at Nationals:

Debate Nat Quals 2017

Elizabeth Davis (right) – 1st place in Humorous Interpretation

Alyssa Gaston (middle) – 2nd place in Dramatic Interpretation

Carissa Hibbert (left) – 2nd place in Informative Speaking (Expository Speaking)

This is Alyssa’s 2nd year in a row that she qualified to go to Nationals!  Please congratulate these outstanding students when you get the chance.
