Tahoma’s Xcalibear Robot returns to safety!
Tahoma High School robotics team, Bear Metal had a great start to the weekend that ended with a major disappointment. Bear Metal won 1st place at the Philomath, OR robotics competition Saturday. The kids put in hundreds of hours designing, building, and practicing to get this far and are #5 in the Pacific Northwest.
On Sunday night the school was notified that the competition trailer with robot, tools, drive station/laptop, etc. was found empty at Pacific Raceways. The robot and other contents were gone.
This morning, an employee spotted the robot on the sidewalk in front of the high school around 6 a.m. The robot appears to be in good condition and the Bear Metal team will be working to ensure it is ready for this weekend’s competition at Auburn High School. Go Bears!
