Tahoma sends Speech & Debaters to Nationals

Debate Nat Quals 2016

This weekend the Tahoma Speech & Debate team competed at the National Qualifying Tournament for the Western Washington district at Auburn-Riverside High School. This single tournament determines which teams in this region will earn the right to compete at the National Tournament in Salt lake City, UT this June. Needless to say, it was a tough competition with a lot of talented competitors. Tahoma managed to pull off some great wins!

This year three of our students will be competing at the National Tournament:

Noelle Merclich and Alyssa Gaston- 2nd place in Dual Interpretation

Joseph (Joey) Ribera– 2nd place in Dramatic Interpretation

Joey Ribera is the second freshman in our program’s history to qualify for the National speech and debate tournament!

Please congratulate them when you get the chance.
