Tahoma Chamber Choir’s Award Winning CWU Performance
On Wednesday, the THS Chamber Choir spent 12 hours in Ellensburg watching other choirs perform and performing at the Central Washington University Invitational Choral Festival. This is billed as a “non-competitive” festival, and while they did get ratings and comments from the three judges, there was no posted winner or ranking. Instead, they give out two awards at the end of the day: one for audience behavior and support (Tahoma kids were superb in this area), and the prestigious Linda Marra award, which is “an award given by the adjudicators to a choir which most vividly connects with a piece and communicates it an honest, sincere, thoughtful, heartfelt and effective manner.” Of the 13 choirs involved, Tahoma’s was the one chosen for the Linda Marra award.
