Do Juniors have to take the Smarter Balanced Test? My daughter said that she did and it’s a graduation requirement. Is that true? I thought she was done with testing??

Reply from Administration: The Smarter Balanced ELA exam (English/Language Arts) is a graduation requirement for the class of 2017, our current sophomores. The state of Washington is requiring schools to administer both the math and ELA exam to juniors. However, it is NOT a graduation requirement for our junior class. If a junior has not met standard on the HSPE and a Math EOC they need to take the Math and/or ELA Smarter Balanced and meet the requirement through the new exam. Some families are choosing to opt their juniors out of the Smarter Balanced testing and those forms are available in the main office.
