Math students qualify for Nationals

At the regional competition last month, Dylon Maertins, Melissa Anthony, Malise Yun, Alex Link, Jon Gort and Rhiana Martin qualified for the State competition by winning 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in their respective categories.

Three of the students competed at the Washington State Math Council State Competition on Saturday, April 18, at Central Washington University.

Senior Alexander Link, Junior Jon Gort, and Sophomore Rhiana Martin.

These three students competed in Topical Problems with approximately 200 students from around the state for top positions.  Our team won 3rd place in a very competitive field!

The next competition is Nationals in Salt Lake City in July.  Rhiana Martin, Dylon Maertins, Melissa Anthony, Jon Gort, Jennifer Peng, and Sam Stevens will represent Tahoma High School at the national level for the 5 day competition.
