Choir students exceed standards
Yesterday was the choir regional choir contest (with choirs from Kent, Auburn, Enumclaw, White River, and Tahoma). Each choir is scored by 3 different judges – all experts in the field. The detailed rubric is based on a 100 point scale, with 100 being perfect (something no choir will really ever achieve). Most advanced high school choirs score in the 60-80 point range, with really good ones scoring as much as 85 or even approaching 90. The THS Chamber Choir’s scores from the 3 judges were: 93, 92, 96 . Our students were outstanding both on and off the stage. After the performance, they had a 20-minute workshop with one of the judges. The attached picture is from the end of this time with clinician Amy Boers.
If you would like to see the Chamber Choir in action, they will be performing at our spring concert along with our Concert Choir and Treble Choir on Tuesday at 7pm at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church (23855 SE 216th St.) near TMS.
