Bear Metal gets to work!
The 2014 FIRST Robotics Competition was revealed this past Saturday. This year’s game is a 3 vs. 3 challenge called Aerial Assist. In short, it is a mix of passing and shooting 2 foot diameter exercise balls. It is better explained in the animation video found here. For the next 43 days, robotics team members will be busy strategizing, designing, manufacturing, wiring and programming in an attempt to finish their robot by the February 18th deadline. Students in the robotics classes that have specialized in manufacturing will be helping out the team by machining a number of critical components.
We have our largest pool of student talent this year and we are looking to build upon on our past successes. We have a daily blog with weekly videos which can be found on our website at tahomarobotics.org. Our competitions will start at the end of February and depending on how well we do, will continue until the world championship held in St. Louis at the end of April.
Feel free to stop by the robotics lab (505) and see the amazing things Tahoma students are up to!
