Robotics team returns from Ellensburg as Chairman’s winners

CWU ChairmansThe Chairman’s award is the highest honor  that FIRST awards.  The Chairman’s Award was created to keep the central focus of the FIRST Robotics Competition on their ultimate goal of transforming culture to inspire greater levels of respect and honor for science and technology as well as to encourage more of today’s youth to become scientists, engineers and technologists.  A team is awarded this honor when they work hard not only to build a robot but to encourage students in their community to get excited about STEM education.  This year, Bear Metal became the first team in Washington State to ever receive this high honor two years in a row.

Winning this award also qualifies Tahoma to compete in the world championship competition in St. Louis this April.  Please congratulate the students who have worked so hard this season.
