Bear Metal WINS Portland Regional!

After struggling with numerous mechanical issues during several of our qualification matches, Bear Metal, joined forces with team 955 from Corvallis, Oregon and team 2471 from Camas, Washington for the elimination rounds at the Oregon FIRST Robotics Regional. In the 3 vs. 3 tournament, our strong alliance battled through the quarters, semis and finals to go on and win the event. Our alliance also set the regional high score during our first quarter final match.  59 schools from 4 states were competing at the event in the Memorial Coliseum in Portland. In addition to winning the event, Bear Metal won the Spirit award for their gracious and professional attitude toward other teams throughout the event.

Winning this event has qualified Tahoma to compete in the world championship competition in St. Louis this April. Bear Metal will also be competing in Ellensburg on March 21st – 23rd. Please congratulate the students who have worked so hard this season and wish them the best in their upcoming competitions.
