Emergency Services Training 8/29

There will be an emergency services training exercise in the Maple Valley area on Wednesday, August 29, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., using three helicopters. Maple Valley Fire and Life Safety and King County Medic will be practicing how to rescue people if they are in an area that is flooded or not accessible because roads are blocked.

The helicopters involved are from:

  • King County Sheriff’s Office Air Support Unit
  • Airlift Northwest
  • U.S. Coast Guard

They will be rescuing the actors/victims around the Cedar Grove Road area and flying them across the Valley to Tahoma Junior High and landing in the soccer field.  The back of TJH will be closed off during the day for their training.
