November 10, 2010 Leave a comment Go to comments

End-of-course exams for high school math will debut in spring 2011 as required by state law (RCW 28A.655.066). These end-of-course (EOC) exams will replace the high school proficiency exam and must be given within the last three weeks of the school year.

The end-of-course exams are based on the revised K-12 WA state math learning standards in Algebra I and Geometry. Students in grades 7-12 who are taking Algebra and/or Geometry will be participating in the end-of-course exams this spring. In addition, students who have already taken Algebra and/or Geometry will take end-of-course make up exams. Specific scenarios detailing what this means for students are provided on the back page of this information sheet.
