Career Center Field trip to Clover Park Technical College-Thursday, May 9th

Clover Park Technical College Career Conference.  Field trip forms are available in the Library and Career Center.  They are due back to Mrs. McKittrick before April 30th.  Only 40 spaces available!  All programs will be open, Hands-on Displays, Environmental Science ECO Fair, Annual Car Show, Aerospace Fair, Health Care Fair, Professional Workshops (Financial Aid, Test Anxiety), Career Pathway Research Projects.

U.S. Service Academy Informational Night- May 7, 2013 -3:30-5PM

For future cadets and midshipmen.  Hosted by Congressman Dave Reichert.  Representatives of the U.S. Air Force Academy, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, the U.S. Military Academy, the U.S. Naval Academy, and other military programs will be in attendance to discuss educational and career opportunities as well as the steps involved in the admission process.

This is an annual event geared toward encouraging young Pacific Islander high school students to pursue higher education.  There will be workshops, cultural empowerment activities and networking opportunities followed by a celebration.  See Mrs. McKittrick in the Career Center for more information or visit the University of Washington website.

University of Washington- Summer Youth Programs

In the summer of 2013 they are offering:  Architectural Studies, Computing for High School Girls, Computer Programming in Java, Intro to Engineering Design, Robotics for High School Girls.  These are non-credit enrichment opportunities.

Nine month college pipeline program that brings students from public and private high schools throughout Washington state to the UW campus one Saturday every month for engaging and fun business sessions and opportunities.

2013 Accounting Career Awareness Program (ACAP Seattle)

Week-long summer residency program at the UW for minority students interested in careers in accounting & business.

Who can apply:  Rising juniors, seniors, and college freshman (students of color)

2013-2014 TiE Young Entrepreneurs (TYE) Seattle

Kicks off with an 8 week training session during October and November 2013.  Students attend classes with the focus being on learning the basics of business.

United States Naval Academy Summer Seminar Program

For Washington’s 8th Congressional District students who are interested in attending a United States Academy (U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Naval Academy).
