All fines and fees can now be paid on line with a check or credit card. Log in to Skyward Family Access and click on the Fee Activity tab. Follow the prompts using E-funds! Check it out! Remember, all fines and fees need to be clear before purchasing graduation tickets, sports clearance, parking passes, ASB cards, Yearbooks and dance tickets.

Get Real Day

Tahoma’s third annual Get Real Day is next Thursday, May 23^rd. It is a Green Day, so students will not attend their traditional schedule. Rather, Sophomores and Juniors will attend three informative seminars relating to life after high school and post-secondary information. Students have pre-registered for the seminars they will be attending. Get Real Day is a half day. Sophomores and Juniors will be dismissed at 11:45am. Senior Oral Boards will begin at 1:00.

Tahoma Tradeshow! May 28 6-8pm

Be sure to check out the annual tradeshow May 28th 6-8pm! There will be over 170 booths giving away LOADS of free stuff. Your friends will be representing companies like Nike and promoting awesome products like the new 2013 Camaro, and some professional hydroplanes! Don’t miss this great chance to get free stuff and look at some cool companies!

THS sweeps Congressional Art Show

David Reichert’s 8^th Congressional District – High School Art Show

Each spring, a nation-wide high school arts competition is sponsored by the Members of the U.S. House of Representatives. The Artistic Discovery Contest is an opportunity to recognize and encourage the artistic talent in the nation, as well as in our congressional district.

The picture seen here is the winning entry for 2013 entitled “Dive In” a photography piece by Mia Hell, a senior at Tahoma High School.

Tahoma has had the wonderful opportunity to win this prestigious award for 7 years straight.

In fact, this year Tahoma swept the first, second and third place awards. Placing second was Austin Perry’s (senior) Piece “Sustainability” and placing third was Dylan Hageman’s (junior) piece “Clear Vision”.

In all, Tahoma High School featured 40 Artists with a total of 72 pieces for the show this year, the largest turnout ever by a single school. Congratulations to all of the participants who participated.

The Artistic Discovery Contest is open to all high school students in the 8th District. The over-all winner of our district’s competition will be displayed for one year in Cannon Tunnel in Washington DC. The exhibit in Washington will also include artwork from other contest winners nation-wide.

The Congressional Art Competition began in 1982 to provide an opportunity for members of Congress to encourage and recognize the artistic talents of their young constituents. Since then, over 650,000 high school students have been involved with the nationwide competition.

Musical adds an additional performance

We are excited to announce that Tahoma’s production of Les Miserables has added an additional performance. The show will now be playing Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights at 7 pm, as well as Saturday at 2 pm. Please spread the word, as we do not have this performance listed on our poster. These kids are incredibly talented – please come check out their efforts! Students are from THS, TJH, TMS, Cedar River, Russell Ridge, Glacier Park, Lake Wilderness, and Shadow Lake!

Performance opportunities: May 3, 4, 9, 10, and 11. There will also be matinees on May 4 and May 11 at 2 pm.

Tahoma receives Washington Achievement Award

TAHOMA SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL is a recipient of the 2012 Washington Achievement Award.

Washington Achievement Award winners are selected using the Washington Accountability Index and criteria in the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) Flexibility Waiver. The award is given to elementary, middle, high and comprehensive schools in seven categories: overall excellence, language arts, math, science, extended graduation rate (high and comprehensive schools only), closing achievement gaps and high progress (Title I eligible and participating schools only).
